Having had a lot of fun with colour in screen print I considered how I could bring that into Lino (not ruling Lino out as my print method). I set the paints up as I would when marbling and rolled onto the cut. Unfortunately Lino printing with the mix of colours is not successful... it just muddies.
This makes decisions, in terms of final prints, easier for me in a way. I want to use the marbling technique as I did with the screen prints using three or four colours. So screen print it is! However the brief specifies only two colours.
I asked Theresa if I could challenge the brief by simply not adhering to it and using as many colours as I want. Turns out not, this is understandable though as I suppose a client would ask for only two colours considering printing costs.
