OUIL505 - Below Leeds

There are a multitude of underground spaces all across leeds. From bomb shelters to tunnels, toilets to subways each location plays a part in Leeds history. Many enthusiasts and 'Urban Explorers' know and visit these places.

I found however that you have to dig and research to find the locations indicating to me a gap in the market. These almost secret underground spaces intrigue me as I am sure would others. There are a few different locations where the tunnels or evidence of their existence can be accessed or viewed. The most interesting places are as follows;

- The train station below the new train station
- Gotts Park Underground Bunker
- Woodhouse moor air raid shelter
- Merrion centre subways
- Meanwood Beck
- Briggate underground subway
- Kirkstall Abbey

I will propose a guide to these locations with information regarding their history perhaps also mocking up an audio tour product. And alike the Headingley bear pit I'll propose a series of products sporting the artwork I make primarily for use on the informative guides.
