Fumetto Comix is a really open brief this year considering the theme is 'Worlds' this could literally apply to anything in my world or someone else's world or just the world, limitless. This is refreshing after my recent collaboration work that's been quite controlled in terms of ideas and design. One controlled element is the media, it must be non digital and submissions are physical. This doesn't worry me either as the recent digital work has kept me and the print studio apart.
In preparation I took a look at some of the previous winners on the Fumetto website. The examples are not typically what you'd think of when they say the word comic. I'd normally think Beano or Giles type things, so maybe this evidences my inexperience with comics. As the first comic I've made since I was about six this brief will be new ground for me to cover.
Drawing from the examples I can understand that the audience (Fumetto Judges) endorse a wide range of styles, so visually I am excited to put my work and tone of voice into a comic. Consistency amongst the examples are in the story telling and comedy - I aim to include a bit of narrative and humour as my work is not often funny, just a bit weird.
