This is the initial scan. I used the image capture application in tandem with the scanner to scan an image of 300dpi (printable quality) in tiff format.
Cropping was the next stage. I cropped by selecting the crop tool and setting the dimensions to A4: 210mm x 297mm. I then saved this as a preset to use later.
Following the crop I proceeded to use the "levels" adjustment to add contrast to the image - brighten the lighter background and darken the grey/black of the drawing. I brought the shadows down and the put the hi-lights up to achieve something that looks closer to the physical piece of work.
Finally the "clone stamp" tool was used in order to remove some construction lines that I disliked.
Our second task was to use Photoshop to edit this poorly taken photograph of a rabbit like chap on a bike. Firstly I cropped the image using the A4 preset created earlier. I then proceeded to use "perspective warp" under "edit" to correct the perspective before stretching the image vertically using the "free transform" transformation (cmd + t). Next the pen was removed using the "spot healing brush tool". Finally I used the "curves" adjustment to edit the contrast in tones and sharpened using the "unsharpen mask" filter.
