Photoshop Induction 2

The second induction session concentrated on the use of colour and texture. Shown below are the beginning and end result of the sessions work on a drawing.

Using the methods learnt last week I scanned another drawing to paint over / into. Before beginning to paint I changed the image mode to "RGB colour". I also prepared by selecting the colour I wanted to use initially using the colour wheel and swatches from the right hand side toolbar. This was followed by a choice of brush adjustment of its size/hardness.

On a new layer I began to paint over my drawing making use of the "Colour Burn" blending mode. As seen in the screenshot below, the first few layers concentrated on shadows, placing subtle tones that would affect the images overall temperature. Next a series of yellows were applied to create the base colour before applying a series of subtle photographic textures to vary the colours and add depth to the image.

Finally I made adjustments using the "Hue/Saturation" adjustment to finish the image with a warm temperature.
