The completed yeti character designs were developed from my story board and drawn entirely in photoshop. The characters body and limbs exist across different layers of a PSD allowing the animators to rig the design for work in after effects. I've had some really positive feedback on the character so am excited to see him move once my animators have had a go.
The finished animation of the character will be inverted as seen below, this decision was made as Jimmy explained projecting bright white characters was the most effective method considering the texture of the lifting tower wall.
The penguin designs were a much simpler affair as with limited movement (only in the legs and wing) I could separate the different limbs easily. The animators will now take on my character designs and produce a sequence of winter scenes involving both my penguin and yeti designs.
