OUIL603 - Lifeform Drawing Club

My first submission for the weekly Instagram 'Lifeform Drawing Club' is 'Scab'. As mentioned in my outline of the brief I plan on making a Lino cut for each image every week in an effort to improve my skills with a small and fresh project.

Making a image with just the word 'Scab' to work from was a bit of a challenge so I revolved it around a quote from my strange house mate whom I once challenged on eating ones own scabs: "... eat your scabs in the same way you'd do your tabs." This resulted in a tripping tiger thing with a scab on his tongue.

I was relatively happy with the physical outcome of the print and some of the digital work I played about with, however as an illustration I think it's a bit crap considering it's distance from the word 'Scab'. Most viewers probably aren't strange enough associate acid tabs and scabs either.

After a tutorial with Matt we discussed the meaningless constraints of this project concluding that I should leave it behind to work on more interesting short briefs.
