This is my complete screen printed design for entry. The characters, trees, frame and caption were all pieced together as a positive. The caption reads: "In the bleak future of two thousand and seventeen it will rain triangles, mankind will feather and great beasts will chemically evolve, dethroning humanity."
I hate the finished image. As I discussed previously I've spent too much time looking at the picture and after screen printing I'd had enough of it. I quite like some of my disjointed ideas behind the work, the comic was supposed to be a sarcastic warning of the future world after most living things are deformed through radiation of the nuclear war that everybody seems assume must be imminent.
Not being happy with the outcomes doesn't mean I've learnt nothing form this brief. I've defiantly learnt a lot about how I work and how I want to use print in the future. I will no longer strive to cut everything I make in Lino, discovering that I can combine drawing and print to success. I think where I went wrong with this brief was defiantly putting most my thinking into the media, upon reflection I would much rather have put my time into developing a more in depth narrative.
