OUIL603 - Monolith

Finalising the project now simply involved adding the logo, this works well with rest of the composition centred top and as seen in the mockup it fits the shirt better than it had previously. I find the correspondence between the circular shapes in my design and that of the logo bring it together as a whole. Monolith were more than pleased with the finished work.

After payment I sent the final design to Monolith's graphic designer / skater, Joe explained that the shirts would be printed in early summer time this year and that he would be back in touch to discuss screen prints of the work should they have a release event for their new clothing / skateboarding video. My work has also been featured throughout their social media and makes an appearance in their new promo video, hopefully gaining me a sizeable bit of exposure within the Leeds skateboarding scene.

Reflecting on this project, I could not have worked for a more accommodating and constructive client. The brief was very open and fun for me and I feel that the outcomes were better because of this. Monolith gave me freedom to put my creative input where other clients have not before and not applying so many creative constraints left me to resolve the project without the usual stresses and disagreements of live briefs. Essentially what I'm saying is that I prefer to do what I want to,  I do understand that unfortunately this is not always the case.
