Being pleased with the results of the tattoo design element I began developing the rest of the design. The other things to consider in regards to T shirt printing are the front design and possibly sleeve designs. Sleeve prints on long sleeve t's are more complex according to Mike in the screen print studio, so I will put more research into this. The front design is easier, in an effort to strengthen my brand of sorts I plan on putting my logo (or a variant of) on all my shirts as a small pocket print.
I made a few roughs to begin the completion of the back design, I'm aiming to compose a design that doesn't just look like I've stuck a tattoo style panther onto a simpler shape body, they must work together. I want it to work as a cohesive single shape based animal using the successful mix of drawing and collage that I have found so useful in recent briefs.
Developing a couple of my drawings with collaged shape based limbs in Photoshop was a little worrying. I struggled getting the head of the panther to sit harmoniously with the arms, legs body and tail. This needs more development and a more structured composition to succeed.
