OUIL603 - Watership Down

The final illustration was for the the front cover. I decided to use bold and basic shape in tandem with detailed drawing against a dark background to really make the firey red pop. This combination of red and black has an original quality that I was aiming for. The cover depicts general woundwort and big wig looking into one anothers eyes with fierce expression, I felt the image sums up the tension and fear built up throughout the story well.

Concluding the project I mocked up both the cover and an example of an internal illustration, the mockups propose a new edition of Waterhship Down that I plan to use amongst my portfolio. I'm really pleased with the project outcomes for this brief, i think they are good examples of a new direction my practice is headed in. Through out this module I've been working with different media to different successes, I belive this has been the most successful brief due to the quality of image making and reference to the original story.
