Tell An Untold Story Pt 2 - The Picture Book - Half Book Mock Up

Having drawn the line work for half of my images I decided to print half of my book as a test before I printed the whole book closer to the deadline. I set an Indesign document up at half the size of my planned 12 image book. The half book was printed onto a roll reaching 180cm. This rivalled printing onto sheet with the need to add hinges and glue the book together manually. I did fear that printing onto a roll would cause various complications. There was the risk that the paper would not flatten properly and that being A4 landscape would be too flimsy to use as a book. I chose to print on a thicker stock to prevent a flimsy book. To my delight the book also remained almost completely flat after being weighted over night.

Looking at the print I am happy with the colour (in comparison to that seen on screen), paper (weight / finish) and the scale. However looking at my drawings they all need attention compositionally, the main problem being dead space and a mix between spot and full bleed images.

Another issue I have with the print is spacing between the panels, I feel there needs to be more space in between each image, this will completely change the way people read my book.
