I See Faces - Malfunction

Being my first work with animation this gif was relatively challenging for me. As previously mentioned this is the simplest of my three pieces. Drawing with the aim to make something move requires a very repetitive and patient approach. Again thinking of image making in a completely new way for me.

Initially I drew the parts of the image intended to be still (below) and set this up as a starting point in Photoshop. I then approached drawing the head at many different angles. This proved to be complicated - working out the angles / perspective of the nose. I overcame this by photographing a friend holding a carrot to their nose and spinning. Measurements were left to my eye as initially mentioned I wanted a hand drawn, jumpy quality to the work.

Each head was copied from a scan of the image above and put into different frames in Photoshop. Looking at the finished image theres mistakes with the angle on the nose and the transitions between frames however these imperfections give it a 'twitchy' energy that I quite like.
