The final visual language informed me that colour is important to composition. Aside from having the capability to add a sense of ambience the use of colour / value can focus the viewers attention on certain information as well as contrast aligned objects.
Upon completion of my roughs I drew this up. Compositionally the image attempts use of frame, line of sight and colour/value. Line of sight was the element I paid most attention to. I used the tentacles and bubbles to lead the viewers eye to the centre piece being the divers helmet.
Negatives (above) made for each colour screen printing (left - red / right - black). I printed these onto ultra thin codatrace paper resulting in a highly detailed screen replicating my drawing near perfectly.
Printing from the screens went somewhat badly. Registration was on point every time due to my printed registration marks. Unfortunately a small area of paint dried on the edge of my red screen resulting in white marks on the left edge of every one of my prints. This was rather disappointing however I have come to accept it and do like some of the imperfections that are natural to the process.
