Having never worked with vector artwork before I am curious and to what can be achieved in Adobe Illustrator as so far to me it seems rigid and constricting.
Turns out everything in one of my childhood favourites: Loco Roco was designed in Illustrator. I really like the way the basic shapes are used to build these crazy little worlds and characters.
This also stuck out to me because of the symmetry, I like symmetry in pictures but never seem to find myself using it. Perhaps learning to work with vectors more designing than drawing will take place.
Looking at both images I can see massive differences in terms of the tone of voice something I had originally though impossible to achieve with purely digital artwork - having the misconception that it was all a very general and repetitive affair.
Illustrator feels very rigid and controlling to me so far... this scares me a bit as I'm used to working (being able to work) loosely. It could be good for me to start working in a new way also having a new approach to image making under my belt.
